Preamble
Kevin Godley and Lol Creme were half of the original group 10cc along with Graham Gouldman and Eric Stewart. In 1977 Kevin and Lol left 10cc at the peak of the group's popularity to start their own self-titled group. Their first release was the intimidating 3 LP set called Consequences, a mixture of atmospheric programme music, songs and musical theatre which tells the story of an eccentric musical genius placating nature in revolt. The album was a showcase for their instrument called the Gizmo, a box placed over the bridge of a guitar that could create orchestral string sounds. The album was poorly timed to arrive right in the middle of the punk revolution and its high cost and quirky nature doomed it to commercial failure. Nevertheless, the album has a well deserved cult following 27 years later. Godley and Creme went on to produce a total of 7 albums and many singles and videos during their 1977-1988 collaboration. Consequences has been re-released on CD and it can be purchased easily through most big online music stores. Some Godley & Creme albums are also readily available online, but others are strangely hard to find.
Fans of Godley & Creme are typically attracted by these attributes of their works: eccentric subject matter, performance and engineering perfection, experimental bravery, diverse styles, complex multi-tracking and dense vocal harmonies. These guys also compose and direct their video clips and create the album artwork.

The Album Collection
In April 2002 I began a hobby project to try and collect every piece of music recorded by Godley & Creme. I already owned 5 of the original LP albums and had carefully converted them to compact discs. I had to locate 2 more original albums, 2 compilations and some of the rare singles and alternate song versions.
My profound thanks goes out to the generous, patient and helpful fans I met in the Minestrone group who emailed me with feedback about this web page (you all know who you are!!). After many months of swapping rare songs via the old fashioned mail, I can now proudly claim to have every album by Godley & Creme. The following table shows the state of the album collection in January 2005.

Singles and special release song versions have been difficult to identify and collect, but progress is slow and steady. The collected singles and missing singles are listed at the end of the table below. I've been taking my discography from a Japanese web site called Sheet Music run by someone called Kazuo, with additional cross-referencing at Minestrone in their Godley & Creme Discography page.
The following discography shows the current state of the Godley & Creme collection as a formatted directory listing. Most album cover images can be clicked to pop-up an enlargement. A detailed list of albums, tracks, singles and covers can be found on Kazuo's Godley & Creme pages in English & Japanese.

Detailed Collection Discography
The original Consequences recording was not divided into 43 tracks as shown in the discography above; the long LP tracks were carefully sliced at points of near silence where characters or themes changed and the result was the track divisions above. I am quite proud of the quality of the albums Consequences, L, Freeze Frame and ismism which I digitised with loving care from the original vinyl LPs. The records were recorded through a 25 year old Hi-Fi system and carefully filtered of background noise and transients (clicks and pops) in CoolEdit 2000. The resulting sound quality is astonishingly clear. You can read about the equipment used in the recording process on the Hi-Fi page. See the Digitising Vinyl page for technical information on the recording and filtering process.
I would appreciate advice from anyone who can help me obtain the singles needed to complete my collection. I am also keen to hear of any errors or omissions in my listings. My thanks go out to José in the US, Mack in Spain, Willem in Holland, Derek in Scotland, Stan, Francisco and other members of the Minestrone group who have offered detailed advice and generously helped me obtain some very rare tracks to complete the collection.
These scans were made from the covers and pages of the booklet in the original 1977 Australian boxed-set release of Consequences. The three records in the set were packaged in yellow, red and purple sleeves respectively, with the lyrics printed on the corresponding sleeve sides.

Gallery (Part-1)
Just as the previous images were included in this page I found some more in another folder. I think these are covers of rare Godley and Creme singles that might have come from Kazuo's web site. I'll include them here as well, just in case they are useful to someone.
Gallery (Part-2)
These images were sent to me by a G&C fan I was corresponding with back in early 2003, but the images sat on my disk for over year before I remembered to append them to this page. The originals were large very high resolution images, so they have been reduced to 600 pixels wide on the popups.

Gallery (Part-3)
While cleaning up my hard disc I found a folder of miscellaneous pictures of Godley & Creme, 10cc and their record covers. I was going to delete the folder, but I thought I might as well dump the images onto the bottom of this page just in case someone might find them useful. Click the thumbnails to pop-up enlargements (they're not very large).
