This page is very new and under construction.
All of the following notes were thrown together quickly.

It would take months of work to create a list of favourite movies with comments and reviews. Since I can't find the time, I'll take a temporary easy way out and dump some poster images and screen shots here. Some images can be clicked to pop-up a full-sized image. Eventually I will spin-off each major movie to separate pages for more detailed screen-shots and discussion. In the meantime I'll just dump everything in this page -- Greg (11-Feb-2003)

This page is unlikely to be made even vaguely presentable in the near future, so I have decided to spin off a series of sub-pages with random movie reviews. The first (and most vitriolic) are:

2001: A Space Odyssey

Favourite Movies

Following is a slowly accumulating list of my favourite movies. I emphasise once again that these are my favourite movies, therefore you will find a weird jumble of genres and titles in here that tickle my personal tastes and might confuse some visitors. I'm sure some visitors will disagree violently with some of my choices, and I'm quite happy to hear and discuss your disputes, so long as you send them to me in a coherent and polite form.

You should recognise some classics (Citizen Kane, Wizard of Oz, Zulu), some really bad movies (Plan 9 From Outer Space, Robot Monster), some bad taste movies (Pink Flamingos, Texas Chain Saw Massacre), and many other titles that have cult followings and blur the line between various genres. Obviously, all of these movies strike some resonance in my brain, and I think the vague common thread through the list is that the films are coherent, original, full of humour (often black), thought provoking, or simply entertaining in some way.

I'm slowly browsing sequentially though the 1600 pages of Leonard Maltin's 2002 Movie Guide, looking for movie titles that I recognise to drop into the lists that follow (favourites, bad movies, not seen yet). By 11-Feb-2003 I'm only up to page 278. The list is not yet sorted into any meaningful sequence.
