In late January 2008 the 4year old wattle tree blew over and was ripped from the ground. It turns out that the roots were rotten on one side, so it was a disaster waiting to happen. As you can see from the photos, the cats thought it created a wonderful playground and they slept and played inside the fallen branches for a week before it was removed.

The ugly old green corrugated iron carport is demolished along with its patchwork brick and concrete floor. I was so keen to rid the world of this pestilence that I went out with a sledgehammer and screwdriver to help the builder personally - Greg Lower photos show the new carport taking shape. |

Indoor Changes The "Sun Room" has a wall added to partition off Marcia's new study. The old bedroom and laundry are gutted to become the new kitchen area. The ADSL modem and router hang from the computer room wall and feed the computers living in the new empty bedroom. Everything in the house is moved to the front and then to the back as the floors are polished in two stages (equivalent to moving out and back into the same house). John spends 6 full Fridays helping us move the furniture around the house and to and from the storage facility. Finally, you can see a part of the effect of exhaustion and tedium caused by moving tons of stuff in the blistering summer heat. |
