In Late April 2006, for John's 60th birthday, I booked a scenic flight for John, Warren and myself (Greg). No Cessna 172 could take our combined weight, and the Cessan 310 was unavailable, so we were luckily assigned the Diamond Star DA-40 which could normally take 4 adults. Unfortunately, we were still overweight (I blame John's 99kg for that!), so I had to stay behind and let John and Warren take the flight with Oscar from Tristar as the pilot. Most of these pictures were taken by Warren with his digital camera. The scenic flight was unfortunately cut from 60 to 40 minutes due to bad weather. After the flight several of the local social gang met for lunch at the Moorabbin Airport flight club restaurant. The DA-40 is a modern, light and powerful plane based upon a glider design, and most impressive is the "glass cockpit" with wonderfully friendly dual display screens. In the some of the pictures you can see the GPS display.
