😟 Silverlight was supported by Microsoft from 2007 to 2012 when it was announced that development had ceased and support would end in October 2021. It is now practically impossible to run the Silverlight app below, even using Internet Explorer 11. This is how it used to look.

Boxes in Silverlight

Boxes perturbed by mouse movement. The amount of perturbation drops off by a normal distribution curve centred on the mouse. The Radius slider controls the diameter of the distribution curve around the mouse. The Power slider controls much much the boxes are perturbed. Inspired by Bill Kolomyjec's composition Boxes I created using BASIC on a PDP-11 in 1973. When Black and White is checked the display more closely mimics Bill's original, otherwise the boxes are filled with gradient colours created by mixing sines and cosines of the box coordinates.
