Use this facility to search the Nancy Street Collections Database.
Welcome Instructions
The search will look for all collection items and jukebox songs with titles containing your search text. An attempt is made first to find exact matches for the text you type, if there are no matches then the search continues for individual words.
For example, if you search for something like beach boys, wizard of oz or Stephen Hawking then you are likely to get exact matches. If no exact matches are found
then a search is made for the individual words in your search text in decreasing order of length. For example, if your search text is:
the goons I'm walking backwards for christmas
There is no chance of an exact match for this text, so a search is made for the individual words in this order:
backwards —> christmas —> walking —> goons
So it's best to try simple search texts at first, then if you get too many results you can just rerun the search over and over until you narrow the results down to what interests you.
Technical Note: The search does not recognise any kind of wildcard patterns such as those used in file names or database selects, it's simply a case-insensitive search for matching text anywhere in certain database
columns.
